Sony is making big strides with it’s new PSP Go, but can it really compete with the mass popularity of the Apple iPhone?
Playstation has big plans for it’s new hand held device, but there are major doubts as to whether or not it stands a chance against the almighty iPhone.
Sony added the “PSP Minis“, small games and applications just like you’d find on the iPhone, in hopes to gain an edge in the market.
While these “Minis” are much cheaper than traditional games and are of high quality, the PSP Go still has a long way to go to reach the capabilities of the iPhone.
For those of you who don’t know, Sony has teamed up with Skype and you can now download and use Skype on PSP & PSP Go to make and receive phone calls.
This is a huge stride into sliding it’s way into the phone market, but will they succeed?
To be honest, I believe they will only pose a real threat when they start putting SIM cards into PSPs.
Skype is great, but to really thrust the portable system into the phone market, it needs to have a SIM card.
If Sony were to team up with Verizon to implement Verizon’s MiFi to use with the PSP Go, they could go places for sure.
